  • Hi Jeff,

I would like to add one point of thought. Romney did not quit the race but suspended his campaign. What does this mean? His delegates cannot go to anybody else at the convention. Romney delegates are still Romney's because he hasn't officially quit. Romney merely "suspended" his campaign.
  • It is my understanding that under Republican Primary rules that someone who has suspended their campaign keeps their delegates until the convention. If they have not renewed their campaign then the delegates of the suspended member are then divided out as the state Republican party chooses. If Romney were to quit then the delegates would be re-divided out before the convention based exclusively on results from the state.
  • Thanks for clearing that up Jeff. That would make more sense if they could be divided. I'm currently working on completing Seminary to become a Southern Baptist minister. Go Huckabee.
